Queen Letizia inaugurates the world's largest meeting of blind people "World Blindness Summit Madrid 2021"

ONCE Social Group brings together more than 4,000 participants from 190 countries to outline the future of blind people

Her Majesty Queen Letizia inaugurates the world's largest gathering of blind people: “World Blindness Summit Madrid 2021", accompanied by Miguel Carballeda, president of the ONCE Social Group, organiser of this event, in which over 4,000 people from 190 countries participated both in person and online, to outline the future of 285 million blind people in the world.

The official inauguration of the "World Blindness Summit Madrid 2021" will take place on Monday, 28th June, at 11.00 a.m., at the ONCE Cultural and Sports Centre, at Paseo de La Habana, 208 (Madrid), headquarters of the World Blindness Summit. It is the largest international assembly on visual impairment ever held, bringing together over 200 organisations representing blind people on five continents. At the Summit, under the slogan "Everyone’s vision", there will be over 50 debates on multiple topics affecting the visually impaired people aimed at getting through in the fields of education, training, employment, autonomy, technology, reading, culture or sport, among others.
